FRIDAY        No homework

Everyone should have had their book approved and started reading their books for the LAPBOOK Book Report which is due the first week in March.

TUESDAY  Sentences in script.
                 PLEASE REREAD YOUR WORK FOR SPELLING AND PUNCTUATION ERRORS.
                 SENTENCES BEGIN WITH A CAPITAL LETTER, END WITH AN END MARK AND SHOULD BE A COMPLETE THOUGHT.

WEDNESDAY   Study for Spelling; Journeys workbook pages

THURSDAY   Reread Story, study vocabulary and verb tenses   

FRIDAY   No homework

A BOOK REPORT ASSIGNMENT WENT HOME TODAY.    Students are to choose a fictional chapter book to be approved and read during February.  The report is due on March 4th.  The lapbook will go home by the end of the week.

REMINDER:   Tomorrow is Book Character Day for 3rd grade.  Students should come to school dressed and be able to introduce their characters ( who they are, what book they are from and one or two sentences about their character).  Students are allowed to bring props such as the book as well

Book Character Day information went home last week.  Students will dress as their favorite character on Wednesday, January 30th.  Students will remain dressed in costume for the entire day.  Students should be prepared to introduce their character and give a short description of them as we go around to other classes that day.

Santa's New Suit Projects are Due Tuesday, December 18th.

Please return all parts.  The final letter to Mrs. Claus and Elvin should be written in script.   Also, please make sure to cut out Santa.

We will have no other homework this week.  We are going to be using our Christmas Spelling words in our Spelling Bee.

Homework Week of 12/10/18 & Santa's Suit Project

THURSDAY       Reread Story, review vocabulary and grammar (regular and irregular plural nouns & suffixes)
FRIDAY             No homework

Thursday: Spelling Test  (also Religion Quiz on Line for a grade: Chapter 7)
Friday  : LA Test


An assignment went home today.  We are on a mission to design a new suit for Santa since Elvin the Elf shrunk Santa's Suit in the dryer.

There are a few parts...

1. Brainstorm - add words or phrases about your design in the four thought bubbles
2. Create the new suit for Santa and cut him out - name on the back
3. Use paragraph organizer to begin writing paragraph  - print is okay
    Topic sentence : states opinion - example   "I think by suit will be the best suit for Santa because..."
    Supporting details are reasons why you believe this - 3 or more
    Concluding sentence: -  Restates your opinion

4. Final writing is in letter form to Mrs. Claus and Elvin in script on good paper (lined with Santa on it) and color the paper.

   If anyone needs a second page, it is available.

The completed project is due on Tuesday,  December 18th.
